Brittany Griffith, M.Ed.

 
Brittany Griffith, a proud 2004 graduate of Waxahachie High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University (Whoop!). She began her career in education by teaching middle school science at Truman Middle School in Grand Prairie ISD. After two years, she returned to Waxahachie and joined Finley Junior High, where she taught 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade science for six years. Her dedication to education led her to serve as the assistant principal at Felty Elementary, and in 2021, she was honored to become its principal.
 
In 2018, Mrs. Griffith completed her master’s degree in Educational Administration at Lamar University, earning her principal certification. Before her current role, she also served as the assistant principal at Shackelford Elementary for two years. A lifelong member of the Waxahachie community, she is passionate about giving back to the district that shaped her and is committed to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment at Felty Elementary.
 
Mrs. Griffith and her husband, Preston, who is also a Waxahachie native and Texas A&M graduate, have two elementary-aged children. As a family, they enjoy spending time with loved ones, traveling, and cheering on their favorite college football teams.

Ashley Gabbard, M.Ed.

 

After graduating from Copperas Cove High School, Ashley Gabbard moved to Florida to support her husband’s military career. She began her journey in education as a paraprofessional in a classroom for hearing-impaired students. While working as a paraprofessional, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida State College at Jacksonville. Shortly after, she began teaching at S. Bryan Jennings Elementary in Orange Park, Florida, where she taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. During this time, she also earned her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Sam Houston State University.
 
In 2018, Mrs. Gabbard returned to Texas and joined Ferris ISD as a 4th-grade teacher. While teaching, she pursued and completed her second master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. After earning her certification, she was hired as the Assistant Principal at Felty Elementary. Mrs. Gabbard is thrilled to be part of the Felty community and is passionate about helping students and teachers achieve their goals. In her first year as an administrator, she is committed to making a positive and lasting impact.
 
Mrs. Gabbard’s husband, Aaron, is a proud Navy veteran and now works for Raytheon. Together, they stay busy raising their four children, Jason, Jared, Jenna, and Jaxon, and enjoy spending quality time as a family.
