Prom Dress Code
Prom is a special night for Waxahachie High School students and approved guests. To ensure that guests dress appropriately and to avoid any awkward or unpleasant situations at the door, we have established the following dress code for suitable formal attire.
- Formal prom attire may be classified as a dress, tuxedo, or dress suit, including tie or bow tie and dress shirt, optional vest or cummerbund, and dress shoes.
- An alternative to a tuxedo and dress shoes would be nice boots and jeans with a sports coat.
- Dresses may be strapless (if they fit properly) or include spaghetti straps.
- Dresses may be backless as long as the dress is not cut below the circumference of the navel.
- 2-piece dresses may only show a modest amount of midriff.
- Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh.
- Dresses may not be cut below the bust line.
- Undergarments should not be visible, but mesh in the midriff section is permitted.
- Medical masks may be worn at prom, but face coverings may not conceal the identity of the prom attendee.
- Guests who are not WHS students must also adhere to the dress code.
- Contact WHS administration before this event with questions about appropriate attire.
