      Digital Citizenship

      • technology logo with green wTechnology presents a remarkable opportunity to enhance learning and help our students evolve into productive citizens of the 21st Century. Waxahachie ISD has embarked on an initiative to provide personal electronic devices for students, enabling them to access educational resources seamlessly. This initiative fosters a blended learning environment, preparing students to become positive "digital citizens" who can actively engage with various technology platforms and applications. This engagement extends the learning journey from the classroom to home.

WISD expects students to treat assigned devices and accessories with the utmost care. Students need to ensure these items are fully charged and ready for use in each class period. Students have the option to opt out of the program if they prefer to use their personal laptops or Chromebooks. However, smartphones are not considered acceptable devices for opting out.

It is the responsibility of students to notify their campus administrator, teacher, or campus library media specialist about any issues with their devices. These issues can range from screen breakage and missing keys to lost or stolen devices/chargers, broken chargers, or any other problems that affect the functionality of the device or charger. In the event of breakage or misuse of an uninsured assigned device, users are responsible for covering the costs associated with the repair or replacement of the mobile device, related parts, and accessories.
