Free & Reduced Meals

    • Your child may qualify to receive free or reduced-price meal benefits.
    • An application must be completed to qualify for the entire school year.
    • A new application must be completed each school year.
    • You may apply for meal benefits at any time during the school year.
    • The previous school year’s meal benefit expires 30 days after the beginning of the new school year.
    • Charges made before an application for free or reduced-price meals are processed are the parent’s responsibility and must be paid promptly. Your child’s meal benefit is not retroactive.

    • Applications are also available at all campus locations, cafeterias, and Child Nutrition Services, 631 Solon Road, Waxahachie, TX 75165.

Charge Policy

    • Students will be allowed to charge up to $10 (menu meals only).
    • All students, over the charge limit of $10, will be offered a sack lunch.
    • Snacks or ala carte items will not be sold to students with a negative balance.
    • WISD Student Nutrition will make every attempt to notify parents by phone, mail, and/or email, with student information.
    • All students are set up with a meal account and parents are encouraged to set up low-balance notifications online.
    • Prompt remediation of an insufficient account is expected and appreciated.
    • Call the WISD Child Nutrition Department at (972) 923-4630 to arrange payment plans.
