The 2023 Waxahachie ISD Bond Proposal was developed by a committee composed of community representatives with various perspectives, including parents, grandparents, business leaders, students, civic leaders, volunteers, retirees, educators, and WISD alumni.

The charge to the committee from the WISD Board of Trustees was to develop a recommendation that will:
- Prioritize the needs of ALL WISD students and make decisions that will enable students to receive a premier education.
- Represent the expectations and values of the community.
- Consider projects that will provide a safe and secure educational setting for students and staff.
- Make recommendations that enhance the District’s capacity to provide conditions for quality teaching and learning within the parameters of fiscal capacity and responsibility.

The committee spent their time reviewing and analyzing the aspects, histories, and projections of Waxahachie ISD’s demographics, growth and enrollment patterns, tax impact scenarios, district finance, educational programs, and thorough discussions of both immediate and long-term needs of the District, and workforce needs for our growing business community.

The Long Range Committee spent its time reviewing and analyzing the aspects, histories, and projections of Waxahachie ISD’s immediate and long-term needs, with thorough discussions including:
- Demographics
- Community growth and enrollment plans
- Tax impact scenarios
- District finances
- Educational programs

During the process, all committee members were presented with an opportunity to express their opinions, suggestions, and recommendations. As a result of this process, the committee formed a recommendation for a bond proposal that was presented to the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees on December 12, 2022.
