Lighthouse for Learning
Waxahachie ISD believes that education is a lifelong pursuit and we strive to carry out this belief in our community. The implementation of the "Lighthouse for Learning" community education program provides adults the opportunity to become lifelong learners.
WISD's Lighthouse for Learning is a cooperative effort between WISD, Texas A&M Extension Agency, Navarro College SBDC, Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, and many business owners and talented citizens in Waxahachie. The classes are a fantastic way to enrich your life by learning a new trade, improving your job skills, getting healthier, or learning something new and fun!
Lighthouse for Learning offers adult community/continuing education classes in both the Fall and Spring semesters. The fall semester begins in September and the spring begins in February.
We encourage you to explore the catalog, register for classes, and be part of this lifelong learning experience.
Ed to Go
Too busy to go to class? Prefer to study in the wee hours of the night? No babysitter? These are just a few of the many reasons to take online courses. Learning in the privacy of your own home is available anytime, anywhere and just a click away. The Waxahachie ISD Community Education department is proud to offer hundreds of classes on a variety of topics online.
The Community Education program has community support through its Advisory Council. This council is made up of community leaders from all areas of the workforce. The Community Education Advisory Council aims to encourage lifelong learning with the Lighthouse for Learning and Education 2 Go community education programs. Advisory Council Members
